My introduction to computers.

This has been a interesting time for me. I can honestly say that I have learned a lot from this class. I wish I could have spent more time learning about Access. I am determined to figure out a way to make that program store all the knitting patterns that I have saved on my computer now. I have also realized that the way that I have learned to do certain things in Word may not necessarily be the correct way to do things but there are always more than one way to skin a cat! Excel... what can I say about this program expect that it was created to try the patience of the kindest person. I do not enjoy working in Excel at all. Not even a little bit. I thought that learning about all the ins and outs of the program would make me enjoy it more. Nope. Still don't like it. Overall, I do feel like this class was a wonderful opportunity to learn. This semester has been a trying one for me and I feel that I have not been able to give it my 100% but that is through no one fault but my own. Sometime life just gets in the way. I do feel that I have come away from this class with a greater understanding than I entered it with. I guess what they say is true... Third time is a charm!

Advantages of Relational databases

Some of the advantages of a company using a relational database is it allows data to be stored properly and efficiently. Databases allow for several workers to use the same databases and not have to worry about duplicate information. Databases also make it easy to filter information and pull out what your looking for. This makes it easy for an organization to visualize their information.

Get your head in the Cloud

Mama said I should keep my heads out of the clouds and focus on my homework. Now, most of my homework is in the clouds or cloud to be correct. I have always enjoyed using my One Drive account. I use it for homework and personal use. I find that it is easier than lugging around a flash drive or floppy disc (just kidding!!! I have no flash drives!) However, recently, there has been some concerns about the safety of your information that is stored in Cloud. Is your personal information one hacker away from being exposed to the world? (Exposed!!! Get it?) I feel that overall our information is safe. Besides, If anyone hacks mine, all they are going to get are homework assignments and the pattern for the latest socks i want to knit.
I like the convenience of having all my information at my finger tips. I can access it on my tablet, phone and the computer in the library. I love how I can update on my tablet while I am sitting in the doctor's office lobby and by the time I get home, it's waiting for me there.
I recommend any one to use the Cloud for their school work and personal business. Just remember, you are putting your information out there so you run the risk of being hacked. Its is a small risk but a risk nonetheless. So remember... KEEP IT ON PEOPLE!!! ;)

I have used several different types of storage mediums. I stopped using flash drives when I left mine in the computer in the library after I finished typing my 12 page research paper. I went back to get it and it was gone. Lesson Learned! However, I am a huge fan of One Drive. I use it all the time. All of my school assignments are saved there. This allows me to access my assignments from my phone, personal computer, or my tablet. I have used this online storage since it was first introduced as Sky Drive. I really recommend anyone that to use a cloud storage as a great back up plan for all your important files. For private files, I still use my personal computer and will save them to the hard drive. I very rarely use any type of flash drive unless I do not have access to the Internet and cannot use my One Drive account.

My name is Nicole Wilson. I am a single mom of a rising senior at Shelby High School. I am currently taking this course for the second time. I attempted to take it last summer online and quickly discovered that I learn better in a classroom setting. I am planning to continue my education after CCC with a degree in Marketing and Public relations. I would like to work for the Uptown Shelby Association. I would also like to open my own yarn store one day. I love to knit and want to share my love with others. I would like to learn to use the computer for more than my nightly homework machine and pattern finder. I guess I can say second time is a charm.
